About Carlea

For over a decade, Carlea has shaped culture through fashion. Her work has appeared in Marie Claire, ELLE, and IMPACT Magazine, always led by her fearless eye, bold aesthetic, and the kind of storytelling that lingers long after the look.

Carlea’s path has been anything but conventional. She watched a fur capsule piece quietly find its way into ELLE years after she first submitted it, and she once slipped backstage at New York Fashion Week with nothing but determination and a well-timed smile. That same hustle carried her into rooms with LaQuan Smith and Cushnie and into producing experiences for EssenceGU, Billionaire Girls Club, The Bomb Fashion Show, and other spaces championing Black and Brown creatives. Through it all, her style has remained unmistakable—rooted in elevated thrift, statement energy, and pure intentionality.

Her viral essay, “I Wanted Love, But He Bought Me Shoes Instead,” a reflection on love, heartbreak, and the armor we build through fashion, proved her pen cuts just as sharply as her styling.

Reemerging after a quiet season, Carlea returns to the editorial forefront as Culture and Style Editor for IMPACT Magazine and Élevé. She steps back in with a renewed voice, a clearer vision, and an unwavering commitment to expanding how we see fashion, culture, and the stories that thread them together—from the ground floor to the front row.
